Epoxy.com Product #1005

Rapid Setting Cementitious Mortar/Grout

Epoxy.com PRODUCT #1005 RAPID SETTING MORTAR is a non-shrink cementitious blend with exact ratios of graded siliceous aggregates and other ingredients that produce a strong, durable, rapid repair and resurfacing product. Epoxy.com PRODUCT #1005 RAPID SETTING MORTAR is easy and fast to use and has excellent durability and workability. Epoxy.com PRODUCT #1005 RAPID SETTING MORTAR is ready to use, simply add potable water and mix to desired consistency. Epoxy.com PRODUCT #1005 RAPID SETTING MORTAR is specifically formulated and manufactured to meet Maryland DOT Class II, Type II rapid setting mortar or concrete.

Epoxy.com PRODUCT #1005 RAPID SETTING MORTAR exceeds all requirements of ASTM C 928. It is especially formulated to be used for concrete repairs, with minimum downtime, where rapid strength gain, good durability, minimum shrinkage and positive bond are essential. Up to 30 lbs. coarse aggregate per bag may be added when patching areas where depth exceeds 2 inches.

Each 50-lb. bag (23 kg) of Epoxy.com PRODUCT #1005 RAPID SETTING MORTAR yields approximately .40 cu. ft. of mortar when mixed with .85 gallons of water. When Epoxy.com PRODUCT #1005 is mixed with 30 lbs. of clean dry 3/8 inch aggregate it will yield approximately .60 cu. ft. To produce compressive and flexural strengths shown, water should not exceed .85 gal. to each 50-lb. bag.

Areas to be patched must be cleaned to sound concrete. Precautions should be taken, if sandblasting, that water and oil collection pots are used in compressed air delivery lines. Before placing Epoxy.com PRODUCT #1005 RAPID SETTING MORTAR, the area to be patched should be wetted with clean water to minimize water withdrawal. Remove freestanding water just prior to placement.

Epoxy.com PRODUCT #1005 RAPID SETTING MORTAR should be mixed in rotary drum or other suitable mechanical mixer. Introduce measured amount of water to mixer, about 3 quarts per bag. If adding aggregate add one-half of the aggregate. Add Epoxy.com PRODUCT #1005 RAPID SETTING MORTAR to water and aggregate with mixer operating. Add remainder of aggregate. Mix one minute, then if necessary, add a small amount of water during the second minute of mixing to obtain desired consistency. Dump batch and immediately deliver Epoxy.com PRODUCT #1005 RAPID SETTING MORTAR mix to prepared pavement area. Clean mixer by adding water and allowing mixer to run. Level the Epoxy.com PRODUCT #1005 RAPID SETTING MORTAR to the surrounding pavement with an appropriate screed and before set, broom finish if necessary. If smooth finish is desired, trowel lightly before set.Epoxy.com PRODUCT #1005 RAPID SETTING MORTAR can be mixed in wheelbarrow by hand for small patches. Epoxy.com PRODUCT #1005 RAPID SETTING MORTAR is easy to finish in small or large patches.

Cure as soon as possible after the repaired area has hardened. For best results, saturate with water and cover with wet burlap and polyethylene. Curing compounds may be used when a water cure is not practical.

Epoxy.com PRODUCT #1005 RAPID SETTING MORTAR should not be used in temperatures below 40°F (4°C). Lower temperatures produce a slower set; higher temperatures produce a faster set. Epoxy.com PRODUCT #1005 RAPID SETTING MORTAR should not be applied at less than ½" (12.7 mm) thickness. If used in areas where acidic chemical spillage is present, it should be protected with a coating such as #640 Multifunctional Coating. For best results when placing against existing concrete, apply Epoxy.com Product #7 Bonding Agent immediately prior to placement.

CAUTION: Contains Portland Cement and Silica. Avoid breathing dust. Cement powder or freshly mixed concrete, grout or mortar may cause skin injury. Avoid contact with skin; wash exposed areas promptly with water. If any cement powder or mixture gets into eyes, rinse immediately and repeatedly with water. Get prompt medical attention!
